Contract Freighters Inc. (CFI), an international truckload carrier based in Joplin, Mo., said three of its professional truck drivers have achieved the goal of traveling three million miles.
Drivers Charles Beaty, Jon Smith and Larry Trexler
were congratulated for their industry standing. With these three honorees, only eight drivers in CFI's history have reached this career milestone.
"These individuals represent an elite group of drivers at CFI and in the industry," said Herb Schmidt, president and CEO of CFI. "Our drivers are the heart and soul of our business and we are all excited and proud to see these drivers reach this personal and professional achievement."
Beaty has been a CFI driver since 1981 and has been driving professionally for 36 years. He resides in Seneca, Mo., with his driving companion and wife, Robyn.
A Joplin resident, Smith began his professional driving career with CFI in 1984. Smith has three daughters.
Trexler, a professional truck driver for 38 years, has been with CFI since 1979. He lives in Rockwell, N.C., with his wife.
The drivers honored have a combined total of more than 90 years of professional driving experience - 77 of those with CFI.
CFI was acquired by Con-way Inc. in late August.
