The American Trucking Associations is bringing back its Information Technology and Logistics Council (ITLC) after shutting it down seven years ago in an reorganization of the association.

Citing the growing importance of information technology and logistics to the trucking industry, a number of ATA members requested the revival of the IT council, which will be introduced at the Management Conference & Exhibition Oct. 20-23 in Orlando, Fla.
The IT council will focus on automatic data capture, satellite tracking, customs automation, logistics and supply chain technologies and other issues in depth.
