TMW Systems Enjoys Record Month for EDI Usage
over the same period last year, according to David Wangler, president and chief executive officer.
"We processed just over a record 1 billion characters," Wangler said. "This outstanding record clearly demonstrates an increasing demand by shippers to do business with their carriers electronically. Carriers are also finding that EDI is becoming a requirement to do business with even small- and medium-sized shippers" Wangler said.
Simply put, EDI involves a set of standards for structuring information (such as orders, confirmations and invoices) to be electronically exchanged between and within businesses. EDI saves companies time and money by replacing information flows that require a great deal of human interaction and materials. Speed, accuracy, security, system integration and just-in-time support are also among the many other benefits of EDI.
With offices in Cleveland, Ohio, Vancouver, British Columbia, and Indianapolis, Ind., TMW currently serves more than 1,000 customers managing over 175,000 trucks worldwide including North America, Europe, China, and Latin America.
