The Jost International fifth wheel program with manufacturing facilities in Greeneville, Tenn., has surpassed a significant milestone by putting its 100,000th fifth wheel assembly into service late last year.

Sindall Transport, a general commodities hauler based in New Holland, Pa., purchased six Peterbilt Model 386 specified with Jost wheels and took delivery from Hunter Peterbilt’s Lancaster, Pa., dealership.
Rich Humphreys, vice president of operations for Sindall, said he first became interested in the Jost fifth wheel product line while visiting the Jost display at the 2006 Mid America Trucking Show, along with Ken Kametz, his Hunter Peterbilt sales representative. Sindall choose to switch to Jost because of the simplicity of the locking mechanism and ease of maintenance.
“ We are very proud of the accomplishment as it represents a great deal of hard work and commitment from all departments within Jost,” said Lee Brace, president of Jost International. “Introducing a new product into a mature market is always difficult, but we had a head start due to the brand recognition associated with our landing gear product line which is now very well established. We have some momentum now to carry us to the next level as a recognized fifth wheel supplier to the North American market.”
