Donaldson Co. Inc., a top manufacturer of filter systems and replacement parts, said the California Environmental Protection Agency's Air Resources Board (ARB) has verified the company's diesel particulate matter low-temperature filter (LTF) muffler
for 1994-2006 model year non-EGR diesel engines used in on-road applications operating on ultra low sulfur diesel fuel.
With the CARB verification, this product is acknowledged to provide particulate matter (PM) reductions by at least 85 percent, qualifying it as an ARB Level 3 device.
Fred Schmidt, director of sales for the Emissions Group at Donaldson, said, "The Level 3 verification of the LTF muffler complements our retrofit product line, providing our customers a wider selection of products to meet the ARB diesel reduction requirements. The Donaldson LTF muffler, used with or without the patented Spiracle crankcase filter system, utilizes a durable, patent pending design to effectively reduce particulate matter emissions."
The LTF muffler basic design is a flow-through filter followed by a wall flow diesel particulate filter and a backpressure monitor. The Spiracle crankcase filtration system can be included to eliminate emissions from the crankcase and reduces in-cabin emissions.
As a result of EPA CARB Verification Reciprocity, this product is available for air quality improvement initiatives across the country. For more information about Donaldson's LTF and Spiracle filter products, call (866) 675-2847.
