Penske Truck Leasing has announced ranked 11th overall on the 2006 InformationWeek 500 for the technological innovation it demonstrates in the transportation and logistics industries.

Penske ranked first among its peers in the transportation and logistics category. This is the company's sixth consecutive year on the list. In 2005, Penske was ranked 21st overall, and was a runner-up in the transportation and logistics category.
"We are very pleased to receive this recognition and it is an honor to be regarded so highly among the many fine companies on this list," said William Stobbart, senior vice president of Information Technology for Penske Truck Leasing.
This year's ranking was based in part upon several innovative IT and systems integration projects that helped Penske improve customer service while also saving millions of dollars annually through process improvements, overall cost reductions, and substantial employee productivity gains at both Penske Truck Leasing and its subsidiary Penske Logistics.
