Peterson Manufacturing Co., Grandview, Mo., has just completed another of the major expansions that have marked its 61-year history. New production, warehouse and maintenance facilities that were recently added to Peterson's
48-acre corporate campus bring the total space under roof to more than 670,000 square feet.
Increasing demand for the company's safety lighting products, as well as continuing growth in its subsidiary businesses, prompted the latest expansion in several parts of the property.
Maxi-Seal, maker of custom-designed harness systems for trucks and trailers, is now operating at near full-speed in its new 45,000-square-foot production facility. A recent arrival from its former Texas location, Maxi-Seal has geared up in both equipment and workforce to handle current business and to meet the expected heavy demand for its just-introduced SureLock system – new technology for wiring trailers.
Next door is sister company Vector Tool & Engineering, a Peterson division specializing in advanced tooling and mold-building. It is now working in a new facility with twice its former space.
Mission Plastics North, Peterson's high-tech plastics division, gained 40,000 square feet of new warehouse space to house the additional raw material and inventory needs of its growing business.
Peterson president and CEO Don Armacost, Jr. said careful planning of the new facilities has led to major boosts in operating efficiency. Peterson Manufacturing Co. produces a complete line of vehicle safety lighting, mirrors, reflectors, antennas and related products. As an ISO 9001:2000 certified company, Peterson Manufacturing is a key subsidiary of Peterson Corp., 11 highly specialized companies and over 3,000 people working in global transportation-related industries.
