Admission and parking are free, and shuttles are provided from the parking area.
“We have so many exciting things happening at this year’s Jamboree,” says Delia Moon Meier, Iowa 80 Truckstop senior vice president. “We will be celebrating the grand opening of our new Super Truck Showroom; Leland Martin will be here in concert;, we're bringing back the fireworks display along with many other exciting events. This is sure to be our best Truckers Jamboree yet.”
The Walcott Truckers Jamboree began in 1979 featuring a few exhibits, live music, food and a small display of antique trucks. That first Jamboree only attracted a few hundred drivers, a far cry from the 30,000 it attracts today. Even though the size of the Jamboree has changed over the years, the focus hasn’t. Celebrating America’s Truckers is what the Jamboree is all about. It is Iowa 80’s way of thanking drivers for all of their hard work and dedication in hauling America’s freight.
“We truly appreciate professional drivers and all they do to keep America moving. We can’t think of a better way to say thank you than to throw a huge party in their honor," says Delia Moon Meier.
