Safety-enhancing and energy-reducing technologies were showcased at MEMA’s first-ever Ride and Drive event on July 17-18. The event was held at RFK Stadium in Washington, D.C.

Members of Congress and their staffs, NHTSA officials and media braved near record-setting temperatures to experience and witness advanced technologies that are now or will soon be available.
Ten member companies participated in the event including: MGM Brake, TRW Automotive, Bendix, Delphi, Continental, Bosch, Hella, Gates, Trico Electronics and Meritor Wabco.
Technologies showcased included electronic stability systems, forward collision warning, idle reduction, roll stability control, lane departure warning, back up and side alert technology, blind spot detection, adaptive cruise control and roll stability control.
