The National Safety Council has awarded its Million Mile Safety Award to Roosevelt Howard from Columbus, Ga. The award is given to professional drivers attaining at least one million miles of accident-free driving.
Howard has operated his own truck under contract with Dart Transit Co. in Saint Paul, Minn., since 1994. Roger Meyer, Dart senior fleet manager, presented Howard with the award at Dart’s corporate office in Eagan,
Roosevelt participates in Dart’s award-winning professional driver development program – which involves a yearly driver improvement course, safety advisers, driver performance analysis and professional recognition.
Dart Transit is the nation’s 14th largest truckload dry-van carrier, and offers 48-state, dedicated, and regional service with 2,500 independent owner-operators.
