A special appearance by the Chrome Shop Mafia as seen on Country Music Television’s "Trick My Truck" is among the many new features planned for the 2006 Expedite Expo in Wilmington, Ohio July 28 and 29.

“There is no doubt that the 2006 Expedite Expo will be the biggest trucking event ever for owner-operators in the expedite trucking business,” says Lawrence McCord, general manager of On Time Media, which is producing the show at the Roberts Convention Centre. “We have more than 45,000 square feet of exhibit space that has been totally sold out, meaning there will be more than 100 exhibitors at the show, which is completely indoors for the first time.”
The Chrome Shop Mafia will be on hand both days, displaying one of their tricked out trucks, signing autographs and answering driver questions.
Expedite drivers and those interested in pursuing a career in the business will be able to find information on everything they need to know to run their business. On hand will be expedite carriers such as, Con-Way Expedite, Panther II and FedEx Custom Critical; truck dealers including Freightliner of Knoxville; trucking groups such as the Owner Operator Independent Drivers Association, as well as producers of trucking products and services of interest to drivers, including XM Satellite Radio, SpeedCo and more.
Industry experts will conduct educational workshops. Topics will range from core business development concerns for both the beginner and the seasoned owner-operator, and carrier to tips on truck purchasing. For the first time there will also be special workshops for expedite carriers covering subjects such as business management, fleet building and maintenance.
This year’s Expedite Expo also includes more entertainment than ever before. Musical performances are scheduled to include trucking entertainer Joey Holiday, blues artist Michael Milligan and Steam Shovel, and the bluegrass sounds of Radio Ramblers featuring Joe Mullens. Also, trucking radio’s Dave Nemo will be broadcasting his XM Satellite Radio show live from the Expedite Expo.
Drivers attending the Expedite Expo will be able to vote for their favorite truck on display at the show in the Progressive Insurance Expedite Driver’s Choice Award. One lucky voter will win $1,000 in a special drawing.
Admission is free and there is plenty of free parking. The Roberts Convention Centre is located off I-71 and State Route 68, less than an hour from Columbus or Cincinnati and only 40 minutes from Dayton.
