Decker Truck Line, with headquarters in Fort Dodge, Iowa, is a diversified flatbed, reefer and van carrier operating throughout North America. It has been in business for 75 years and has been purchasing Peterbilt vehicles through Peterbilt Wisconsin since the early 1980s. Parent company, JXE, based in Waukesha, Wis., operates eight Peterbilt dealerships in Wisconsin and Illinois.
Decker’s 1,000th Peterbilt was a Model 379, but the company also runs Peterbilt’s aerodynamically styled Model 387s and Model 386s.
The relationship between the two companies began in the early 1980s when Don Decker began purchasing Peterbilts from Peterbilt Wisconsin founder Chuck Jorgensen.
The first Peterbilt trucks that Decker operated were purchased by Don’s father, Dale, who started with the company in 1940. Don has carried on this relationship with Chuck’s son Eric Jorgensen, who took over operations at JXE in 2000.
Dan Sobic, Peterbilt general manager and Paccar vice president, said, “It’s rewarding to have a valued customer like Decker who shares our commitment to quality and customer satisfaction. We are proud of our nearly 25-year relationship with them and we look forward to every future success.”
Peterbilt Wisconsin, founded as a single location in Waukesha, Wis., in 1970 by Chuck Jorgensen, grew to include four locations throughout Wisconsin and four Peterbilt Illinois locations which offer leasing, rental, financing, parts & services, insurance and new and used truck sales.
