Time is running out to register for the Motor & Equipment Manufacturing Association’s (MEMA) Legislative Summit, scheduled Wednesday and Thursday, June 7-8, in Washington, D.C.

This meeting comes at a critical time for the automotive and heavy truck supplier industry. Many issues impacting suppliers are on the legislative agenda.
The summit offers members a chance to meet with representatives, senators and congressional staff to discuss topics including:

• the impact of China on manufacturing
• health care
• cost of raw materials
• new safety technology
• counterfeiting
• pensions
• chemical security
• remanufacturing

Work will still be underway on these issues in June, making it an opportune time for Congress to hear from suppliers.
Highlights of the summit program include the Congressional Reception and Supplier Fair on Wednesday, June 7; breakfast with Sen. Carl Levin, D-Mich., on Thursday, June 8; and the presentation of MEMA’s Industry Champion Award to Rep. Dave Camp, R-Mich., during a luncheon on June 8.
