The 27th Annual Walcott Truckers Jamboree will be held July 13-14, 2006 at Iowa 80 Truckstop, I-80 Exit 284, Walcott, Iowa.

The two-day event features more than 200 exhibits, a Super Truck Beauty Contest, antique truck display, Iowa pork chop cookout, Trucker’s Best Friend pet contest, Trucker Olympics, carnival games and a Ferris wheel. There will be live bands, a fireworks display and fun for the whole family.
Admission and parking are free and shuttles are provided from the parking area.
“We have so many exciting things happening at this year’s Jamboree,” says Delia Moon Meier, Iowa 80 Truckstop senior vice president. “We will be celebrating the grand opening of our new Super Truck Showroom; Leland Martin will be here in concert; we are bringing back the fireworks display along with many other exciting events.”
The Walcott Truckers Jamboree began in 1979 with a few exhibits, live music, food and a small display of antique trucks. That first event only attracted a few hundred drivers, a far cry from the 30,000 it draws today. Even though the size of the Jamboree has changed over the years, celebrating America’s truckers is what the Jamboree is all about. It is Iowa 80’s way of thanking drivers for all of their hard work and dedication in hauling America’s freight.
“We truly appreciate professional drivers and all they do to keep America moving. We can’t think of a better way to say thank you than to throw a huge party in their honor," says Meier.
