ZF, which supplies driveline and chassis technology, is now the sole supplier of heavy-duty shocks to The Holland Group’s truck and bus suspension systems.

After significant testing under “severe” conditions in China and Mexico last year, The Holland Group began converting all of its truck and bus suspension systems to ZF Sachs shocks and expects the process to be completed within the next six months.
“This change clearly benefits our customers through increased durability of this important suspension component,” said Roger Elkins, product manager for the Holland Group. “We have seen a substantial decrease in shock warranty claims through the changeover to Sachs. Our customers report increased shock life, especially in our more severe-duty truck and bus applications.”
Jim King, sales manager for Heavy Duty Suspension at ZF Sachs, said the company works toward a goal of a 300,0000-mile lifespan for every shock and works directly with OE customers to establish tight tolerance levels of performance and safety. Long term, this reduces maintenance costs of the shocks themselves, tires and other more complex chassis components.
Headquartered in Friedrichshafen, Germany, ZF is among the 15 largest automotive suppliers in the world.
Holland specializes in coupling, lifting and vehicle suspension system products. These products include fifth wheels, landing gear, air and mechanical suspensions, kingpins, pintle hooks, drawbars, couplers, lift gates and roll formed components.
