In return for a $10 contribution to Hurricane Katrina relief, visitors to this year’s Waste Expo show in Las Vegas will have the opportunity to see how quickly they can search through bins full of stuffed toy Mack bulldogs
-- to find the one that barks.
The contest, sponsored by Mack Trucks Inc., will be held in the rear of Level 2 Exhibit Hall on Wednesday, April 5th from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Thursday, April 6th from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Contestants posting the fastest times during these hours become eligible to compete for Mack Shop merchandise in the Grand Final Challenge to be held Thursday at 4:45 p.m., during the Environmental Research and Education Foundation (EREF) Annual Equipment Auction and Reception in the Convention Center’s Upper Level Exhibit Hall.
No advance registration is required.
All proceeds from the Barking Bulldog Event will be distributed to the Louisiana SPCA and the New Orleans-area Habitat for Humanity.
In addition, the toy Bulldogs used in the contest will be donated to the Children’s Hospital of New Orleans.
“We see this as a fun way to use our corporate symbol to raise funds for some very worthy causes,” said Tom Kelly, Mack vice president of marketing.
