XATA Corp., which provides onboard fleet management systems for private fleet transportation, has received a contract for the deployment of 420 XATANET systems into one of the nation's largest private truck fleets
engaged in the transportation of crude oil and petroleum products.
"XATANET was selected based on its ability to adapt to the unique requirements of the oil and gas industry," said Craig Fawcett, XATA chairman and CEO. "With over 300 XATANET customers spanning a broad range of industries already installed, this contract further validates the broad market acceptance and potential of XATANET to enter new vertical markets."
XATA expects to begin deploying systems under this contract in its fiscal 2006 first quarter, ending Dec. 31, 2005, with completion expected in its fiscal 2006 second quarter, ending March 31, 2006. Since XATANET is a subscription-based product, revenue is recognized ratably over the initial term of each subscription rather than fully at the time of delivery.
