Western Star Trucks has announced that it is co-sponsoring the Road Hammers, the Canadian Country Music Awards' 2005 "Group of the Year."

With their self-titled album debuting at No. 1 on the country music sales chart, the Road Hammers are performing in 30 cities across Canada this month. The group is also making special stops in tour cities to meet and sign autographs for select Western Star dealers and their invited guests.
Ann Demitruk, director of marketing for Western Star Trucks, said, "The Road Hammers are a talented group that pays a great tribute to today's truckers and we are very excited to welcome them to our dealerships and co-sponsor their tour."
The Road Hammers are a five-piece mix of country, southern rock and blues, singing songs of maverick culture and the open road. Created by Jason McCoy, the Canadian Country Music Awards' 2004 "Male Vocalist of The Year," the band has recorded a charged mix of trucking classics and new originals. McCoy is joined by Clayton Bellamy and Chris Byrne as they create what they call, "the definitive and ultimate driving album."
