There was no shortage of chrome or passion on a recent Saturday at the Ozark Empire Fairgrounds in Springfield, Mo., where 18 Model 379X owners gathered with friends and family to show off their special-edition Peterbilt trucks
during the first-ever X Family Reunion, hosted by The Larson Group, which owns and operates seven Peterbilt dealerships.
“We wanted to say thanks to all of our customers who bought a Model 379X,” says Glenn Larson, president of The Larson Group. “They have a unique place in Peterbilt’s history as owners of this special-edition truck in which only about 1,000 were produced. Our Model 379X customers take their commitment to and enthusiasm for Peterbilt to a new level, and we wanted to create an event that was exclusively for them where they could get together as a community year after year.”
Larson said the inaugural reunion, held Aug. 20, was by invite only to customers who purchased a Model 379X from one of the dealerships owned by The Larson Group, which sold approximately one-fifth of all Model 379Xs produced. He says future X Family Reunion events will be open to all owners, regardless of where they purchased their vehicle.
