Freightliner Trucks recently teamed up with Portland-based Northwest Medical Teams to send a truckload of vital supplies to devastated areas in Louisiana and Mississippi.
A 2005 Freightliner Century Class S/T hauled a trailer full of medical, cleaning and school supplies, along with other needed items, to Moss Point, Miss.; Metairie, La.; and Baton Rouge, La.
Freightliner Trucks loaned the Class 8 truck, the 53-foot trailer, provided the drivers and paid for all of the fuel on the trip to the disaster-stricken areas.
The supplies on board, donated by Northwest Medical Teams, are valued at over $294,000. The most critically needed items were cleaning supplies such as bleach, mops, disinfectants and rubber gloves.
