Commercial Vehicle Group Inc., a supplier to the heavy truck, construction, agriculture, recreation and marine industries, has announced a five-year exclusivity agreement with VEC Technology L.L.C.,
the developer of a computer-controlled, large part composite molding process.
Headquartered in Greenville, Pa., VEC Technology is a full-service, high technology virtual engineered composites manufacturing business that provides total systems solutions for manufacturing composite needs.
The agreement grants CVG the exclusive right and license to use the VEC process in the production of parts and components for Class 6, 7 and 8 heavy duty trucks. The alliance will enable CVG to increase global sales by expanding CVG's product line and available manufacturing technologies. The VEC system is economical and has significant advantages over current processes including environmental advantages and superior finish and durability. CVG expects VEC cells to be in production by early to mid 2006.
"We believe that this agreement positions CVG to gain competitive advantages over existing alternative molding processes in the commercial vehicle market," said Mervin Dunn, CVG's president and chief executive officer.
