SkyBitz, Dulles, Va., announced it has signed Tri-State Motor Transit Co., Joplin, Mo., carrier to its client roster. Tri-State Motor Transit selected SkyBitz to provide trailer tracking and management for 1,400 Tri-State trailers.

Tri-State Transit Motor Co. was founded in 1929 to provide transportation for local zinc and lead mines and is now the nation’s largest truckload carrier of dangerous and highly sensitive materials for the U.S. government, including the Departments of Defense and Energy. Tri-State selected SkyBitz’s patented Global Locating System (GLS) Platform to track the location of cargo and materials at all times throughout the U.S. and provinces of Canada.
“As a transporter of hazardous materials, our top priority is to ensure the safe and secure delivery of goods to our customers,” said David Bennett, executive vice president of Tri-State. “The SkyBitz GLS Platform gives us visibility across the entire delivery network – even across country borders – so we know at all times the location of our cargo. This tracking intelligence gives us peace of mind so we can concentrate on other aspects of our business.”
According to SkyBitz, it now supplies 120 customers with 42,000 units in the field.
