GeoLogic Solutions, Herdon, Va., announced that three current customers have signed agreements to upgrade their fleets with GeoLogic’s MobileMax Multi-Mode system.

Don Hummer Trucking Corp., Oxford, Iowa., is a nationwide carrier of dry and refrigerated freight. The company operates 145 trucks – 120 company-owned and 25 owner-operators. According to Cathy Johnson, general manager at Don Hummer, the carrier decided to upgrade to the new MobileMax systems as it replaces its entire fleet with 2006 model year tractors, installing the GeoLogic technology as new vehicles are delivered.
“We’ve been using GeoLogic’s technology since 1997 for fast, reliable mobile communications and to know where our loads are at all times,” said Johnson. “The reasons we decided to upgrade to new MobileMax units include the system’s better overall cost of operation compared to the competition. Also, our IT staff and drivers are very pleased with how user-friendly the MobileMax units are, and how reliable the systems have been. In addition, the company’s support service has been very good.”
Diversified Transfer & Storage, Billings, Mont., provides long-haul refrigerated, local pickup and delivery, freight forwarding and logistics services. Mack Roof, information services manager, reported that Diversified compared MobileMax to competing systems before deciding to upgrade the fleet to new MobileMax units.
“We brought in other systems to evaluate, and on all counts GeoLogic was the best choice. Our evaluations included driver impressions of the on-board screens, price and usage costs and satellite coverage.”
Roof also said that the MobileMax system’s messaging capability was a key selling point, as was the ability to track state line crossings accurately and integrate that data with the carrier’s fuel tax reporting software.
Hendrickson Trucking, Sacramento, Calif., is also upgrading its fleet of 140 tractors with MobileMax systems.
“The MobileMax system has proven to be very efficient for dispatching and messaging, including sending load information to drivers,” said Alban Lang, CFO and vice president. “Before deciding to upgrade we compared MobileMax to other solutions and determined that GeoLogic was not only very economical, but our solid experience with the company was also considered.”
"We are pleased to see our current customers upgrading to the MobileMax system," stated Sean Dorney, vice president of sales and marketing for GeoLogic Solutions. "These new system purchases are a clear indication that our customers are satisfied with our services and confident that our product technology advancements will continue to meet their mobile communications needs."
