GeoLogic Solutions, Herndon, Va., announced this week that R. E. Garrison Trucking and Baker Hi-Way Express have renewed contracts with the company for continued use of the MobileMax Multi-Mode communications system.

Alabama-based truckload carrier R. E. Garrison Trucking hauls a mix of dry and refrigerated freight coast to coast and has equipped its 319 tractors with the MobileMax system.
“Before we renewed our contract we evaluated other systems,” stated Bill Shotts, vice president of operations for R. E. Garrison. “We decided to stay with GeoLogic because it has the most cost-effective system, and the dual-mode technology means we can get a location update anytime. With other systems on the market, there are areas without coverage.”
In addition, Shotts considered the MobileMax system to be user friendly from a management point of view.
“The GeoLogic system is fully integrated with our Innovative Computer Corporation dispatch and back office systems,” said Shotts. “Ninety-eight percent of fine tuning or updating can be done in-house, so we don’t have to wait for a supplier to make changes. The integration is completely seamless.”
In addition to renewing a five-year contract, Baker Hi-Way Express ordered 90 new MobileMax units. The Dover, Ohio-based company operates 210 tractors, hauling steel, brick and other commodities on flatbed trailers throughout the lower 48 states.
“The MobileMax system has done exactly what we expected it to do,” said Bob Barnhouse, CFO for Baker Hi-Way. “GeoLogic has quality, service and cost in its favor and we haven’t seen anything better. We renewed our contract and decided to upgrade all of our older units to the new MobileMax system because with GeoLogic we have a good product and people who provide good service.”
