Nexiq Technologies, Auburn Hills, Mich., has introduced Blue-Link and USB-Link to streamline and simplify the heavy-duty diagnostic process for engines, transmissions, anti-lock braking systems
, instrument panels and more.
Blue-Link and USB-Link add to Nexiq’s first PC-to-vehicle wireless interface, Wireless Vehicle Link. NEXIQ now provides repair shops with three separate wireless technologies that cater to the specific needs and existing PC technology within the shop.
Blue-Link and USB-Link products enable technicians to connect wirelessly to a diagnostic PC, laptop or workstation, providing analytic tools without cumbersome wires in and around the vehicle. Both units provide up to 300 feet of wireless connectivity to any PC in the shop. USB-Link and Blue-Link also connect to PDA-based diagnostic software, providing the technician with a full range of cordless capabilities.
Link products are industry-standard RP1210A compliant, with compatibilities on all Nexiq, OEM and Tier 1 diagnostic applications. The diverse compatibilities of the Link products help lessen further investments in multiple, manufacturer-specific diagnostic technologies.
Blue-Link is designed for facilities servicing heavy-duty vehicles that require diagnostic parameter monitoring, trouble code reading and reprogramming capabilities. The Blue-Link supports both J1708 and J1939 protocols and connects to the vehicle with a nine-pin Deutsch vehicle adapter and compatible PC configuration software. A kit including a nine-pin to six-pin adapter is also available.
USB-Link incorporates Class 1 Bluetooth wireless technology and USB
wired technology. USB-Link is designed for both wired and wireless PC connectivity. It provides service facilities with advanced reprogramming and flexible connection options on various fleet technologies, while incorporating broad protocol support. The USB-Link supports heavy-duty and automotive vehicle protocols J1587/J1708, J1939/J2284, CAN, J1850, ISO-9141, Key Word and ALDL. Three LED lights help technicians monitor the interface's power, data communication and fault alerts.
The NEXIQ Link products all offer simplified setup procedures, providing quick access to the interface without complicated programming or a computer technician, minimizing downtime associated with new diagnostic installations.
