The Woodrow Wilson Bridge Project has issued a major traffic alert for I-95/I-495, the Capital Beltway Outer Loop, for the coming weekend.

All northbound lanes between I-295 and Maryland 210 will be closed during overnight hours Saturday and Sunday, April 16th and 17th. Three of four lanes on southbound I-95/I-495, the Capital Beltway Inner Loop, between Maryland 414 and approximately Maryland 210, also will be closed during the same time period.
Closures will be in effect from 10:00 p.m., Saturday night, April 16, until 8:00 a.m., Sunday, April 17, and again from 10:00 p.m. Sunday, April 17, until 5:00 a.m. Monday, April 18. Lane closures are necessary to safely hoist five 124-foot-long steel beams across the Beltway; the beams will support a new bridge to span the future wider Beltway.
Project alert included these specific directions:
Motorists traveling on northbound I-95/I-495 (Beltway Outer Loop) will use the following marked detour:
• Take exit 2A ramp to Maryland 210 South
• Take next immediate exit ramp to Oxon Hill Road (Maryland 414) East/Maryland 210 North
• Turn right at light onto Oxon Hill Road (Maryland 414) heading eastbound
• Go through the Oxon Hill Road/Maryland 210 Intersection and access the Beltway Outer Loop by using the signalized left-turn ramp.
Drivers accessing the Beltway Outer Loop via southbound I-295 also will be affected by this weekend’s overnight closure and will be directed to use the same detour as above, beginning with the exit ramp to Oxon Hill Road (Maryland 414) East/Maryland 210 North.
Motorists traveling on southbound I-95/I-495 (Beltway Inner Loop) will continue to get by on the far right lane. The entrance ramp from southbound Maryland 210 to the Beltway Inner Loop will be closed, however, requiring local drivers to use the following marked detour:
• Continue traveling southbound on Maryland 210 to next immediate Beltway Outer Loop exit ramp
• Take the Beltway Outer Loop to exit ramp 4B (MD 414 East)
• Reenter the Beltway Inner Loop from MD 414 East
