The OmahaChannel.com reported that Nebraska State Patrol and the Sarpy County Sheriff’s Office conducted surprise truck inspections Wednesday. Sarpy County is just south of Omaha.

The inspections targeted commercial vehicles that might not travel outside the city or pass through weigh stations as part of their regular routes. According to the OmahaChannel.com, 67 trucks were inspected and 205 violations found; 26 vehicles were taken out of service for violations relating to bad brakes or tires, or other problems that pose immediate safety risks.
In addition, four drivers were taken out of service, one for no operators license, one for possession of a controlled substance in a commercial motor vehicle and two for not having a commercial driver's license. Officers issued a total of $6,255.00 in fines.
