Overnite Transportation Company, an LTL carrier, has opened a new Denver, Colo., service center.
Located on a 20-acre site, the facility features 90 doors, twice the capacity of the company’s former center in Denver, and employs 84 people.
From the new Denver facility, Overnite now provides next-day service across the Denver metropolitan area as well as to Kansas City, Kan., and Salt Lake City, Utah. Its two-day service extends into key markets in the West and Midwest including Chicago, Dallas, Detroit, Fort Worth, Las Vegas, Minneapolis and Oklahoma City, and into Iowa, Missouri, Nebraska and Wisconsin. Freight destined for points in California, Oregon and Washington State, as well as to select markets in the South and along the Atlantic Coast, now falls under a three-day umbrella.
Overnite Transportation Company, which provides long-haul services, is a wholly owned subsidiary of Overnite Corporation, which also owns Motor Cargo Industries. Together, they form one of the largest LTL carriers in the United States with more than 200 service centers and a fleet of over 6,000 tractors and 22,000 trailers. They cover all 50 states and provide customers with direct access to more than 45,000 cities in the United States, Canada, Puerto Rico, Guam, the U.S. Virgin Islands and Mexico.
