The Associated Press reported Monday that the New York Thruway Authority has begun public hearings on a toll hike for the nation's longest toll road.
It would be the first hike in 17 years.
Under the plan, Thruway tolls would rise by 25% percent for cars and by an average 35% for trucks. The toll for a tractor-trailer between Albany and Buffalo would rise from $32.70 to $53.75.
