The SKF Group and the Haldex Group have agreed to develop jointly an advanced wheel end system for commercial vehicles, trucks, buses and trailers.
The system will be based on Haldex's new generation of disc brakes with a fixed caliper dual disc concept and SKF’s truck hub, bearing and sealing technology.
According to a SKF statement, the integrated system will be more compact and efficient with improved safety and performance. As the concept is further refined during 2005, the companies will begin to work with interested customers.
SKF is a supplier of bearing and elastomeric products, solutions and related services, as well as linear motion and lubrication technologies. Headquarters are located in Gothenburg, Sweden, with technology centers in the Netherlands, Italy and the United States.
