CEI of Trevose, Pa., a provider of accident and risk management services to vehicle fleets, and New Jersey-based Driving Dynamics, a provider of advanced driver education programs, have announced joint development of a web-based driver training program.
The program will be delivered through CEI’s risk and safety management system, DriverCare.com.
The new program consists of 15-minute active learning modules featuring interactivity and 3D animated driving sequences. The online training is SCORM (Sharable Content Object Reference Model) and AICC (Aviation Industry Computer-Based Training Committee) compliant.
Based on the core curriculum of Driving Dynamics’ behind-the-wheel course called The One-Second Advantage, the web-based course teaches drivers advanced techniques for identifying potential hazards, maintaining control of the vehicle and utilizing defensive tactics. Other subjects include space management, intersections, changing lanes, speed, backing up and parking.
The first modules available cover personal responsibility, impaired driving, aggressive driving and safeguarding one’s self and vehicle during business travel. An additional custom module tests drivers to evaluate their knowledge of the company’s driver safety policy.
Over 100,000 modules have already been ordered by CEI clients for delivery to drivers in North America. Additionally, educational modules are being translated into several European languages and roadway protocols for CEI European clients.
