The Virginia Department of Transportation has postponed announced wok on I-95 south just north of Fredericksburg.
The department said the postponement was due to rain. However, the same work is now scheduled for tomorrow, Tuesday night, March 8. Construction will continue on Wednesday night, March 9, weather permitting. Work schedule for last week was postponed because of snow.

I-95 detour and lane closures in Stafford County:
Tuesday night, March 8 - I-95 southbound closed from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. All southbound traffic will be detoured to southbound Route 1 at Exit 140 (Route 630/Stafford) to Route 17 north. Southbound delays: 45 minutes to 90 minutes, barring major incident. Detour length: 10 miles
Wednesday night, March 9 - One lane closed on southbound I-95 from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. Southbound delays: Traffic will be stopped for 10- to 15-minute intervals beginning at 10 p.m. Crews will monitor traffic flow to prevent major delays.
