TechWeb News reported last week that British authorities recently thwarted an electronic bank robbery that involved keylogger software, a kind of computer spyware.

The plan was to steal $423 million altogether from the London offices of the Japanese bank Sumitomo Mitsui. But the bank discovered that hackers had infiltrated its network had installed a keylogger.
Keyloggers record and report keystrokes that enable hackers to learn log-in names, passwords and credit card numbers.
Police reportedly arrested a 32-year-old Israeli man after an attempt was made to transfer $26.8 million into an account there.
