Qualcomm Inc.,San Diego, Calif.,has signed an agreement to install the GlobalTRACS equipment management system on Pettibone's full line of material-handling and construction equipment.
Pettibone's manufacturing operation is located in Baraga, Mich.
GlobalTRACS collects, manages and transmits equipment operating
status and location data, and will soon remotely monitor vital machine
functions as well. All this information can be accessed over a Web-based application or integrated into existing back-end business software
systems. GlobalTRACS also can report engine hours on demand or at automated intervals. Another key feature allows users to create virtual boundaries, or ACI-geo-fences, with both entry and exit alerts for security management. Upgrades to the system can be completed remotely.
