Networkcar, San Diego, Calif., announced at the Annual Technology and Maintenance Council Meeting and Exhibition Monday that it will expand its telematics offering
to include a satellite option. Customers will be able to select satellite coverage for vehicles operating outside of terrestrial coverage.
According to the Networkcar release, customers can select more affordable terrestrial coverage for the majority of a fleet and equip the remaining remotely-located vehicles with satellite coverage. The customer can choose the most affordable option for individual vehicles yet still manage the entire fleet using the same hosted software.
The Networkfleet Vehicle Management System offers a variety of features including:
* Route monitoring for efficient dispatch and routing using a web-based GPS mapping solution.
* Remote vehicle diagnostics for trouble-code, mileage and vehicle speed exception notifications.
* Metrics reporting for improved mobile workforce productivity.
* Asset Protection through the use of GPS technology and a 24/7 call center for emergency assistance.
