National Tank Truck Carriers Inc., Alexandria, Va., has named Thomas P. Lynch vice president and general counsel.
NTTC is the trade association representing over two hundred trucking companies specializing in bulk transportation and distribution.
Last May, NTTC announced that President Cliff Harvison will retire at the end of 2005, after nearly 40 years at NTTC. Vice President John Conley will succeed Harvison and Lynch will move into Conley’s role.
A member in good standing of the District of Columbia Bar, Lynch is also expected to fulfill legal duties for NTTC. He was most recently Legislative Director to U.S. Rep. Nick J. Rahall (D – WV), a leader on transportation issues as a senior member both of the U.S. House of Representatives and of the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee.
Lynch worked on the NTTC staff for five years in the 1990s. He left in 1995 to join Philip Services Corp. and its predecessor organization, Allwaste Container Services Inc. In 2002, he received his Juris Doctor degree from the law school at Georgia State University.
Lynch can be reached at 703/838-1960 or tlynch@tanktruck.org.
