The Caspar Star Tribune reported Wednesday that a Wyoming legislative committee unanimously endorsed Senate File 126 that will limit trucks to 65 mph on interstate highways
, while the limit for cars will remain 75 mph.
One legislator said he has received more positive comments from the public on this bill than he has on any bill in his 10 years in government.
The paper reported that the Wyoming Trucking Association is opposed to different speed limits for cars and truck. The Owner Operator Independent Driver Assn. has long campaigned against split speed limits. Ohio recently eliminated split limits on the Ohio Turnpike.
