O&S Trucking Inc., Springfield, Mo., has named Don Lewis as the company’s Driver of the Year for 2004.

According to O&S, Lewis has been with the company since February of 2001 and has averaged 136,000 miles per year. This year he had no service failures, no accidents or incidents and no log violations or maintenance issues. He was one of the top three drivers in safety standards and received a Safety Bonus Award for 2004.
Lewis also earned a Fuel Bonus Award for 2004 recording seven miles per gallon and an idle percentage of 17%.
The O&S Driver of the Year receives a free jacket and a $1,000 bonus check, plus a formal dinner with their spouse, fleet manager and company president Jim O’Neal. A driver must first win Driver of the Month to be considered for Driver of the Year. The Safety and Fuel bonuses are awarded in separate programs. In 2004, some 63 Fuel Bonus Awards and 95 Safety Bonus Awards were distributed at O&S.
O&S Trucking is an employee-owned; asset-based trucking company that includes a dry truckload division, temperature-controlled division, heavy LTL, brokerage and warehouse facilities.
