Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration announced that Administrator Annette M. Sandberg will discuss the challenges of Sept. 11 at the Border Trade Alliance conference
, "Cargo Security and Trade: Maintaining the Right Balance".
The conference Feb. 14-15 at the Washington Court Hotel in Washington, D.C., will address cargo security and trade.
Sandberg will discuss the FMCSA's 2005 agenda and address its efforts to enforce security regulations on our national highway system. Specifically, Sandberg will focus on what FMCSA is doing to make certain legitimate trade is not burdened by excessive regulations.
"Our concern is that in expressing our legitimate concern for securing our homeland, we must not overlook potential economic damage that can result from excessive regulations and slowdowns in the supply chain," said Eric M. Adams, chair of the BTA board of directors.
