Bandag Inc., Muscatine, Iowa, has signed a six-year agreement with U.S. Xpress, the fifth largest publicly-owned truckload carrier in the U.S.
Bandag will manage a total tire program for the Chattanooga-based carrier.
The agreement covers approximately 5,500 tractors and 14,500 trailers.
Bandag will manage the fleet’s wheels, tires, retreads and tire-related services. Bandag Emergency Tire Assistance will provide the fleet with roadside assistance. Bandag Yard Check, a vehicle inspection method customized to U.S. Xpress specifications, will improve vehicle readiness and generate information to help manage the fleet’s equipment.
Bandag manufactures retreading materials and equipment for its worldwide network of more than 1,000 franchised dealers that produce and market retread tires and provide tire management services.
