The Heavy Duty Distribution Assn. (HDDA) announced it will not participate in the 2005 Council of Fleet Specialists (CFS) Executive Conference in April.

According to a HDDA press release, the group’s board of governors decided to focus resources on the new Heavy Duty Aftermarket Week, scheduled for February 2006 in Las Vegas, Nev.
The HDDA said its decision was part of “an effort to reduce the number of meetings and redundancy in the heavy duty aftermarket industry” and that “a number of heavy duty aftermarket associations are planning to participate in a common event offering educational and social functions, a trade show and pre-scheduled private business meetings. Event organizers are targeting heavy duty product manufacturers and distributors and truck fleet/heavy duty service specialists.”
"The industry week concept will provide attendees a much-needed common event and platform where heavy duty industry initiatives and association services can be shared and implemented," said Hugh Charvat of the HDDA Board.
