Truckload carrier CFI, Joplin, Mo., recently raised more than $17,500 through an in-house raffle to purchase Christmas gifts for local children and elderly.

Executive management donated prizes that were raffled to CFI employees. Raffle tickets were sold at $1 each. Early in December, CFI employees participated in a shopping spree to purchase gifts for 100 senior citizens through the Empire District Electric Co.’s Christmas Elf Network and for 275 children through the Salvation Army.
“Our employees raised a tremendous amount of money,” says Herb Schmidt, president of CFI. “I’m very thankful for their commitment to help others. And many employees committed their time to shop for gifts. Our employees are giving of themselves to provide for the less fortunate. This is a great way to start off the holiday season.”
