Volvo reported last week that worldwide deliveries of trucks from the company’s three truck companies increased 22% through October this year

Deliveries from Mack rose 30%. Deliveries from Volvo Trucks increased 25% during the period.
During the past 12 months, order bookings for the Volvo’s truck operations were 42% higher compared with the preceding year. Orders were up 15% in Europe, while the increase in North America was 101%.
More specific figures follow:
Total number of Volvo brand trucks delivered in North America rose from 14,056 in 2003 to 20,471 in year-to-date 2004, an increase of 46%.
Total number of Mack brand trucks delivered in North America rose from 14,150 in 2003 to 18,428 in year-to-date 2004, an increase of 30%.
Total number of all Volvo Group name plates delivered in North America rose from 28,503 in 2003 to 39,101 in year-to-date 2004, an increase of 37%.
The discrepancy in the figures is attributable to North American sales of Volvo’s Renault trucks with fewer than 300 sold.
