The SAE will present an international symposium entitled "Enhancing Heavy Truck Safety, Security and Efficiency Through Technology" December 1-2 in Phoenix, Ariz. at the Embassy Suites North.

The symposium will explore unique technological solutions to security, safety, and operational efficiency concerns. Events will include a Transportation Safety Administration presentation on "Securing the Nation's Surface Cargo Systems;" a panel discussion titled "Deployment Benefits and Challenges;" vehicle demonstrations at the Exponent Track; tracking technologies and RFID; and various safety and security systems.
Other presentations include: Mobile Wireless Solutions; SDDC's Experiences with Tracking Technologies; Technology and Hazardous Materials Transportation; TSA - Securing the Nation's Surface Cargo Systems; and Truck Driver Responses to Alertness Monitoring and Fatigue Management Technologies.
Keynote speakers for the event will be Warren Hoemann, Deputy Administrator, Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration; and Chet Lunner, Assistant Administrator, Office of Maritime and Land Security, TSA.
