Cetaris, Toronto, Ont., Canada, announced that U.S. Xpress Enterprises Inc. will implement Cetaris Fleet Assistant
, a system with the PocketPC wireless capability for use by technicians and parts people.
U.S. Xpress participated on the joint application design team that developed the original Fleet Assistant Windows product. In the fall of 2003, U.S. Xpress engaged Cetaris to clearly define the details of the proposed project. The team consisted of fleet maintenance experts and software technical personnel from U.S. Xpress and Cetaris. The results included infrastructure requirements, system integration requirements, business requirements, stakeholder criteria for success, key assumptions, risks, and a phased implementation plan.
“Implementing the Cetaris Fleet Assistant system provides our fleet services team with an additional tool that will further streamline the process of effectively maintaining the equipment in our fleet,” said Jerry Elkins, U.S. Xpress Vice President of Maintenance.
Truckload and expedited carrier U.S. Xpress of Chattanooga, Tenn. operates 5,500 trucks and 16,500 trailers.
