American Trucking Associations President Bill Graves met with top executives of GE’s Trailer Fleet Services
Sept. 29 at the company’s headquarters outside Philadelphia.
The ATA legislative agenda, economic factors affecting trucking, and strategies to improve the image of the trucking industry were among topics discussed.
“The involvement of a company with the breadth and reputation of GE is a terrific asset for trucking and our Association, “ said Gov. Graves. “We share many of the same objectives, and I appreciate their bottom line perspective – and solutions -- for helping carriers and fleets improve productivity.”
GE has been an active member of the Allied Committee for the Trucking Industry (ACT 1), and has helped ATA members directly through its integrated “cradle to grave” service offering for over-the-road trailers launched last year. The approach has been well received by customers, and includes TIP Rental & Leasing, Financing & Insurance, VeriWise™ asset tracking, Maintenance Management and Remarketing Services.
GE’s Trailer Fleet Services business has 125,000 over-the-road trailer assets, and operates a North American network of 100 branch locations, staffed by a sales & operations team of 900 employees. The company recently changed its name from GE TIP.
