Volvo Trucks North America Inc. significantly expanded its customer and dealer support this month with the addition of a new parts distribution center in Joliet, Ill.,
outside of Chicago.
The new PDC joins Volvo’s existing PDCs in Reno, Nev., Memphis, Tenn., Columbus, Ohio, and Toronto, Ont.
"Providing excellent customer service is the reason for this expansion," said Rikard Jonsson, senior vice president for parts sales and marketing. "Our customers cannot afford to have trucks down, waiting for parts to arrive. The addition of this large, fully stocked, strategically located PDC will shorten parts delivery times to dealers in the Midwest, in some cases to overnight, and will enhance parts availability throughout our network.
The Chicago PDC has a total of 325,000 square feet and is expected to fill more than 400,000 orders for parts annually.
