Trimble Navigation Ltd., Sunnyvale, Calif., has introduced the Lassen iQ module, a ultra-low power, miniature Global Positioning System receiver
for mobile devices.
The Lassen iQ module enables system integrators to easily add GPS capability to mobile devices at an economical price.
Trimble’s Lassen iQ requires very little power even in continuous operation. Its postage-stamp size makes it practical for many mobile applications.
The module features two GPS signal sensitivity modes: Standard and Enhanced. With Enhanced mode enabled, the module automatically switches to higher sensitivity when satellite signals are weak.
Trimble will be offering the Lassen iQ in developers’ kits in the fourth quarter of 2004.
