Kenworth Truck Co., a division of Paccar Inc., is now offering the DENSO 130-Amp brushless alternator as an option.

DENSO’s new status comes as a result of meeting Kenworth’s requirements in terms of quality, price, performance, reliability and durability in a rigorous, objective process.
"Our company views this as an important step in establishing DENSO as a recognized supplier to the Heavy Truck OEM," said Diane Kenny, manager, OEM/OES Heavy Duty Department at Denso Sales California Inc.
DENSO’s 130-Amp brushless alternator is specifically designed for use on today’s Class 7 and 8 truck engine. The new pad-mount design provides durability in high-vibration applications because the alternator is mounted directly to the engine block. It is also available in the J180 hinge mount configuration.
This alternator features a compact and lightweight brushless design, which allows for easy installation. The design element of long-life brushless construction eliminates potential of brush wear and erosion and helps to extend the life of the alternator. The alternator also provides increased output, producing 80-amps at engine idle. Other features include heavy-duty front and rear bearings, corrosion resistant windings, and non-soldered connections.
Established in 1971 as the first overseas affiliate of the DENSO Corp., DENSO Sales California Inc. is an automotive components sales and distribution company that employs 242 people in Long Beach, Calif.
