The Caterpillar C15 engine, rated at 600 and 625 horsepower, is now available for order with Peterbilt's Model 379-127 and Model 379X.

Peterbilt began manufacturing trucks with the C15 at these ratings this month, making the company the first OEM to produce units with this configuration.
"These new engine options provide a broader horsepower range to better meet customers' operating requirements," says Bruce Ewald, Peterbilt assistant general manager of sales and marketing. "There is a great deal of market demand for high-horsepower engines, and we're fortunate to be in a position where we can first meet that demand and provide customers with this popular rating."
Ewald says that 600 and 625 horsepower engines will appeal to a wide range of markets, particularly long haul and heavy haul.
Peterbilt Motors Co., a division of Paccar Inc., manufactures trucks for a wide range of markets, including over-the-road, construction, municipal and medium-duty.
